The synopsis is a summary of the main points of the protocol, usually needed to present the aim of the study before the developing of the full protocol. Once the study is defined and the protocol drafted, the final synopsis is used also to give a summary of the study to the Ethic Committee (EC). It must be translated by a delegated translation agency into the local languages of the participating site involved into the clinical trial and must be accompanied by a valid translation certificate
